Attaching Files
Files from your Nextcloud storage can be attached to posts using the [attachment] BBCode. You can
attach files in three ways:
Using the Attachment Button
When composing a post, click the paperclip icon in the toolbar to open the attachment menu:
- Pick file from Nextcloud
- Browse your existing Nextcloud files
- Select a file to attach
- The file path will be inserted as
[attachment]path/to/file[/attachment]
- Upload file to Nextcloud
- Select a file from your computer
- The file will be uploaded to your configured upload directory
- Once complete, the attachment tag will be automatically inserted
Using Drag and Drop
You can also drag and drop files directly into the editor:
- Drag a file from your computer over the editor area
- A drop zone will appear indicating you can drop the file
- Release the file to start uploading
- The attachment will be inserted once the upload completes
Configuring Upload Directory
By default, uploaded files are saved to a "Forum" folder in your Nextcloud files. To change this:
- Go to Preferences (click your name in the top right)
- Find the Files section
- Enter your preferred directory path or click Browse to select a folder
- Click Save
Note: Attachments will be visible to anyone who can view the thread, regardless of the file's sharing settings. Do not attach files you would like to keep entirely private.
Reusable Templates
Save frequently used text snippets as templates for quick insertion:
- Click the template button in the BBCode toolbar (text box icon)
- Create templates with a name, BBCode content, and visibility setting
- Set visibility to control where templates appear:
- Threads - Only when creating threads

Templates are personal to each account and persist across sessions.
